A native Texan, Dr. Jill Odle was born and raised outside of Houston, and grew up with a love for animals. As an only child, she spent most of her time with the family dog, her “brother” Patches. Jill was always begging her parents (unsuccessfully) for various other creatures to call her own. To her parents dismay, she won a goldfish at a carnival in elementary school and managed to keep it alive for 2 years.
Dr. Odle received her bachelor's degree in Biomedical Science in 2002 from Texas A&M University. It was during this time that she realized her calling was to be a veterinarian, and began to work towards that goal. In 2007 that dream was realized when she graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Texas A&M University. Her love for emergency medicine began during her 4th year of veterinary school when she enrolled in and completed 2 emergency rotations. Having started out her career in general practice in Atlanta, she always enjoyed working extra shifts at her local emergency clinic. It was there she gained experience working alonside seasoned emergency veterinarians, and her love for emergency medicine grew. Dr. Odle made emergency medicine her focus when she moved back to Houston in 2014 to be near her family. She enjoyed 4 years in Sugar Land, TX, at a busy emergency and specialty hospital. Missing the Southeast, Dr. Odle and her family again made a move halfway across the country to beautiful Charleston, SC, where she joined CVRC in August of 2018.
The most exciting thing about veterinary medicine and emergency medicine specifically, is that you never know what your day will bring. Dr. Odle loves the challenge of helping animals who cannot speak for themselves . She also enjoys client education and helping pet parents make the best decisions for their family members.
Dr. Odle shares her home with her husband, daughter, and several geriatric dogs. In her spare time she enjoys the opportunities for outdoor activities that Charleston has to offer. In the fall you can catch her cheering on the Texas Aggies!
