Medical Director - Cardiology

Dr. Sophy Jesty is a board certified veterinary cardiologist. She graduated from Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2001. Dr. Jesty went on to complete a sports medicine imaging fellowship (University of Pennsylvania), a residency in large animal internal medicine (University of Pennsylvania), a residency in cardiology (Cornell University), and a basic research fellowship in regenerative medicine (Cornell University). She worked as a cardiologist in private practice in New York City from 2010-2011, and then was on faculty at the University of Tennessee in the section of Cardiology from 2011-2015. In 2015, Dr. Jesty joined the staff at Charleston Veterinary Referral Center

When Dr. Jesty isn’t treating patients, she can be found boating and shark tooth hunting with her wife Val, and their two children Emi and Pippa. Two dogs (Biscuit and Carlos) and 3 cats (Bug Bug, Bomba, and Manta Ray) fill out the family.
